    Rick Perry

Post  donslaw on Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:43 pm

    This guy's one scary dude.....
Perry is considered one of the most conservative 2012 GOP contenders [5]. An interesting story in the National Review details how Perry is more conservative than his predecessor [6], former President George W. Bush. (The piece also dishes on Perry’s tense relationship with Bush.) Perry is also known for being among the first politicians to embrace the Tea Party movement [7]. Perry believes that homosexuality is wrong and has written about how secular humanism is bad for society [8]. He has expressed skepticism about many Federal government programs and has called Social Security “a Ponzi scheme [9].”
    LINK

He’s written a book about the subject, Fed Up!, which is an order of magnitude more crotchety and idiosyncratic than your average raising-my-national-profile book. (He also published a very personal and occasionally hot-tempered defense of the Boy Scouts, On My Honor, lambasting the feminists and organized homosexuality in a way that suggests he’s not much interested in a Mitch Daniels–style truce on the social issues.)

    Tracking the Flow of Money

The administration of Gov. Rick Perry of Texas, a Republican presidential candidate, has doled out millions of dollars in grants that benefit some of his most generous donors. State money awarded to G-Con, a pharmaceutical start-up, provides an example of how state grants appear to be paying dividends for some major Perry contributors.

    AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!

Perry graduated in 1972 with a 2.22 GPA, earning a bachelor's degree in animal science.
    LINK Same GPA as Chimp's as well . . . .

And of course, the media is "forgetting" his history:
In 1984, Perry was elected to the Texas House of Representatives as a Democrat from district 64 that included his home county of Haskell. He served on the House Appropriations and Calendars committees during his three two-year terms in office. He befriended fellow freshman state representative Lena Guerrero of Austin, a staunch liberal Democrat who endorsed Perry's reelection bid in 2006 on personal, rather than philosophical, grounds. * * * Perry supported Al Gore in the 1988 Democratic presidential primaries and chaired the Gore campaign in Texas.
And the Tea Baggers as well..... jocolor

Why Rick Perry’s War On The 16th Amendment Is The Third Prong Of His War On Seniors

Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R) is taking a lot of well-deserved criticism for his absurd claims that Medicare and Social Security violate the Constitution. But these are hardly the only part of Perry’s constitutional agenda, which seem designed to inflict unnecessary cruelty on America’s seniors. Perry also wants to repeal the federal government’s 16th Amendment authority to enact income taxes and replace it with a tax system that would slash millions of Americans life savings:

Perry probably doesn't even know what the 16th Amendment is!!! Like Chimp, he's not a bright lite bulb, but he is obviously a better public speaker!
The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.
    -- U.S. Constitution, Amend. XVI

All of this shit is coming from the CITIZENS UNITED folks.

The biggest mass murderer since Pol Pot!
Reporting from Atlantic, Iowa — Texas Gov. Rick Perry said Friday that he respected the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to block the execution of a Houston murderer who would be the 236th person put to death on his watch.
